Found this free filter that kinda simulates black and white infrared photography. As I do a little IR with the Hoya R72 filter, I found it's not quite the same but none the less I found the effect interesting.

The link to the free filter is on this page...Bob

Bob,

I downloaded that IR filter. When I click on it, PS Elements comes up. The manual says it should show up at the end of the filters but I can't find it. Any suggestions? --21oo, B-3oo3o4oJuli

Juli, as a destination folder, I put it in my Program files> Adobe> Photoshop 6.0> Plug-ins> filters folder.

I think you could do the same with your Adobe PS elements...

Put the .8Bf file in your Elements plugins folders. Then, when you open an image inside Elements, it should show up on your filters menu under "glick efx > Infrared"

Very nice pics Bob. I agree with you, this filter adds something interesting...........kind of fun bringing up old pics and trying the IR effect on them. And it's free, so what the heck!

Yes, thanks. That's what I just did. Neat program. Have you any other neat filters to suggest? --21oo, B-3oo3o4oJuli

Here's one I tried.
That's turned out nice Juli. Gives it an "old" look. Find one with a nice deep polarized sky and set the red/green slider towards red. You'll get a spooky dark sky...Bob--'Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away, and you have their shoes too.'

Hey Lori, that did come out nice. Nothing like recycling old photos into new ones...Bob

I have not been able to make the filter work with PS6. I'v put it in the Plug-ins dir - no go so I put it in the \Plug-ins\filter dir and still no go.

I'v tried re downloading and re-installing the new downloads and keep getting no where.

I've dropped other filters in the plug-ins folder and they work so it must be the files I am downloading that is currupt or something.

Can someone e-mail or post a link to an alternative site where I can download.
Thanks,

Wilson
