I broke down and decided on the F707 (DA) and ordered it along with (too) many accessories! They sure did deal on the accessories.

I used Abe's Of Maine. http://www.abesofmaine.com A lot of the accessories went for less than listed, except for the 128mb memory stick of course.

They say within 5 business days. So i guess that means after next week now.

So... what is a Mack warranty? Is it any good? I hope so!

You are welcome to "blame" me. I'd love to take that credit.

Congragulations,

Well upon further research they are in...Brooklyn, NY!

Well i am hoping it goes well since i purchased a lot from them on this order. Seems it has mixed reviews. But i expect that from dealing with discount places elsewhere. As long as they send me my stuff.

I bought a 505V from Abes about a year ago and they did right by me. Good price, good service. Best of luck!

I purchased my first camera, A Sony F505V, from Abes of Maine and got my purchase delivered on time. My only complaint with Abes is the salespeople were very pushy.

I spoke with someone at Abe's the other day...they apparently deal with gray market cameras!! After I told them what I wanted (the 707) they asked me if I wanted the American or the gray market version...the American version was near list price. This shook my faith in their organization so I ordered from computers 4 sure.

Perhaps the gray market version is OK, but it seemed a little underhanded to me...perhaps this is what the warranty question is about...maybe they supply one because the Sony warranty is not valid for a gray market camera...hopefully it should still be ok, though..

Well who i talked to (Rick) said this was NOT a gray market item specifically.

I also got ahold of them and they helped me correct my delivery address screwup (my fault) on this Sunday! I was kind of impressed they were there and helpful.

On a side note i expect discount places to be short and to the point and not debate their opinions much if at all. Nature of the business and should be expected. Know what you want , summarize the order and total price at the end, be polite always. I think this helps. Also if you want accessories a lot of times on the phone they will offer a discount for them.

Here in NYC for some reason it is the capital of gray market retailers. They have been around for years, 47th St Photo almost made it famious. LOL.

My understanding of gray market is it doesnt hold up to USA QC, hence no factory warranty. These guys make up the lack of that by selling those extended warranty. I do believe it is suppose to be illegal to sell gray market stuff.

Well i got my camera in a timely manner and all was well with it. NOT a gray market camera and manufactured in Dec 2001.

They did send me the wrong memory stick reader, but since they look exactly the same and it was listed correctly on the invoice, i can't blame that on the sales guy. Sent the reader back and awaiting new one.

So far, so good!

What I like about them is that they list buyer feedback; very
enlightening indeed.
