I have been looking around to buy the Sigma 70-300 APO. From what I unserstand, if it ahs a 1 yr warranty then it is "gray market"?

where can i find a non gray market lens. BH doesnt have it.

Thanks everyone. I looked at Sigma4less and they seem to have the best gray market prices out there. I have been looking at Normancamera.com. They also have good prices and have a high rating on resellerratings. They do not, however, mention if the item is gray market or not.

Thanks again. Let me know if you guys have any other suggestions.

Hiya

I've actually just ordered this lense from:

http://www.onestop-digital.com

They seem to me to have the best prices new. Ships from Honk Kong though and I'm in the UK so not sure if they ship to US. I've no ide aabout 'grey market etc tho'.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

I didn't realize sigma4less sold grey market. Bought a Sigma 10-20 from them about a month ago... Hm. Didn't realize it was grey market, but now that I've checked it is.

That's a bit upsetting, it wouldn't have changed my mind, but I'd still like to know ahead of time. Hrmph.

Thanks,

So noone knows where to get it non gray market?
Do you have a brick and mortar camera store near you? That's how I ordered mine to ensure it was not grey market. Plus, I liked the idea that I was supporting a local shop in my own town.

Just an idea.

That's odd, I just ordered a Sigma 70-300 APO the day before you called B & H and it's in transit. I sure hope that I didn't get one that had been previously returned.

I ordered my Sigma 70-300 APO DG from B&H about a month ago. I, too, at first thought it was gray market because of its just 1-year warranty. It's not gray market. Only Sigma's premium line carry the 3-year warranty--which the Sigma APO is not.

I highly recommend B&H--they have a very lenient return policy and took exchanged mine after the warranty was out no questions asked.

thanks. All I have around me is a Ritz Camera in the mall. There is
another smaller store but I forget the name. I'll check them out.
Thanks
Hi

I bought my Sigma 17-70 from a local camera store, helps everyone when one buys local, I find them more helpful and usually more knowledgable and sometimes more honest, plus they help pay the same bills you get, like city taxes
