What are your favorite Oly colors? (2 pics)

Just to think that on any given afternoon of the week we can go perhaps 20 minutes to the most beautiful places capture them with amazing cameras and share the views with (potentially) thousands of people a few minutes later.

Wonderful pictures, Bill! Amazing that there is no IS, no 600 mm zoom, no 12-48 mpix camera and these shots are just perfect! Gear lust - it rots the mind :-)

Actually Bill it is what frustrates me about the WB on my E300. That is a custom WB without much PP.

I have spoken with Brent about this because I have recently realized how wacky the WB can be. I still shoot jpeg and am having all kinds of issues unless it is full color range and bright sunshine. Even a custom whibal WB setting it is all over the place.

I have been messing around with lot's of old pics to see what I was missing.

Here is the same pic with my amaturish color correction. Time to shhot RAW or buy an E-1 I think.

What do you think?

a trick response...the 2nd is much better. Isn't the wb an issue with the E300?? Also isn't that the camera most seem to shoot raw with for reportedly best results??? I wish I could get my hands on one to see what's up.

A friend of my wife's who I see occasionally just got an E500 that I can't wait to see/shoot if she'll let me...

Hope it all sorts out Charlie...

Yes Bill. Sorry to trick you but I had tricked myself into not seeing this for a year!! I hear the E500 is much better.

What do you think?
that you overdid the correction. :-)

You overbrightened the pic a bit. A simple Auto Levels action in Photoshop gives a better result, at least to me.

And yes, E-300 does tend to paint photos yellow at auto WB. But it's usually not a problem as it's quite easily remedy in Photoshop.

Well, I also like purple.

But I also like weird colours, like this fluorescent greenish yellow...

And then, I like an occasional photo with subtler colours.

pink, grey, white, black
E-1 f 3.2 iso 100 (NR on) 4 sec

full moon over carolina beach

yes I see the noise center right - but it was almost pitch dark except for moonlight.

Auto and most other WB Sure it is easy but still kind of a drag.....

Thanks vlatko
