When can we see the real DMC-L1??????????????

We have seen the prototype, we have seen the official launching, so, what is wrong now? or am I too hurry or panasonic is too slow??? Why still no news and when can we see the final product??
 
If your in Japan you can pick up an L1 today at approx $2000USD, so I'd assume they will be in the stores pretty soon in HK, Singapore etc. There's been a series of shots posted on the Leica forum where someone picked one up on the day it was released.

so envy you! I'm still setting budget to buy this camera, I think this will be my first digital slr! I've seen samples in leica forum, it is lovely!
 
Mine is on order from amazon. They list a release date of Aug 31, but an estimated shipping date of Aug 3-17. Either their software is confused or they expect to receive a shipment and send cameras out to customers well in advance of Aug 31. If I do receive the camera before the official release date, I'll post that info.

Not surprisingly, Amazon has not shipped my L1. The order still says "delivery estimate: August 3, 2006 - August 17, 2006," though...

I guess it won't be coming much before its official release date. Oh well. More time to change my mind.
 
I came close to ordering it from Japan but to tell you the truth, I have lost some interest in it. I am waiting on the Leica Digital M with teh greatest of interest!

I might still but the L1 but will wait till introduced in the USA.

They got the jump on everyone by weeks on the new DMC-FZ50. Who knows, they might have an exclusive for the L1, also!

I just noticed that the pre-order button that had appeared on the L1 page at the Panasonic Direct site is gone. Perhaps there's a shipping delay for the worldwide rollout?
