A few from last few weeks (dialup warning)

there's not much to say about these pics.they do all the talk.
stunning job, thanks for sharing...
If I/d have to pick one,I'd pick these two...

best regards
tom

Thanks Tom.
2nd pic (balloon filling) has some midnight sepia added
1st pic the water was originally a murk algae green colour

thanks again, much appreciated
I was about to ask the balloon photo. It has a mood that works great for me.
On the first I can't really understand one thing, the reflection of the red.
is it natural? It adds a great balance to the color-composition of the image...
regards
tom

I do not care about bandwith in these situations.

In the past few days I've had the chance to read and see many ( too much ) threads. most of them with muddy subjects and useless replyes ( my ones might been there too ) but very few posts containing images that worth a look. In my opinion this thread would diserve way much more atention than the ones regarding eos 30000 D and other...things.
I found these images to be well selected ,of high quality and posted with care.

please understand that this message is not personal ( I really appreciate and love your work ) but there hasn't been too much posts with quality images like that in past few days. for that I really don't care and I'm not sorry for waiting till the pics. load..

best regards Darrel,
forgive me if I was rude, it was not my intention

Lovely pics, and I admire your dedication in the last pic. I don't think I'd keep shooting if one of my kids turned the hose on me!

Believe me, this was the very last shot before I spun round and got blasted with water. Also, i was at the tap end :) I had comlpete control of what he sprayed (kind of)

Thanksfor all the constructive and complimentary comments guys

Utterly fantastic images. Can you tell us what lenses you use? I am a novice and I'm inclined to think you're using some top-shelf L lenses but I am curious if I am wrong there?

Look liks you're a good photog. with good subjects and great technique/post processing.

I have an unlimited broadband connection, so I suppose maybe it's not entirely fair for me to comment here, but I vastly prefer the images embedded right into the post. Browsing through posts like this one is what keeps me coming back to these forums, and having to switch back and forth to an external site ruins the experience for me. Honestly, when people post a link, I don't even look half the time unless their post has generated a lot of comments. It seems to me that the waning given in the subject should be fair enough for those with bandwidth limitations.

Best regards...
Garrett

Can you tell me what lens you used for these shots? One of these days I'll be getting an xt, but I'm still researching which lens to buy. I'd like my best chance at achieving your kind of quality right away. thanks

Citylights, these were from last FEW weeks, some actually a bit older.

I'm lucky enough to live near one of the major wildlife parks in the UK, which my (nearly) 3yr old son loves visiting.

As for kit, Ive been using the following

Canon 350D
Kit Lens18-55
70-200mm F4l
50MM f1.8
Extension tubes
Sigma 500 DG ST Flash
Gary Fong's Lightsphere for portrait work

First batch were all 70-200 F4L except my son which was 18-55mm, and the Zebra, qhich was a Nikon 80-200 F2.8 ED on an adapter for EOSfit.

Second Batch : first 3 were 70-200 F4l, number 4 was kit lens, orange flower was kit lens and extension tubes, fairground was kit lens, lightning was kit lens, flower was i think nikon lens as was Ocelot.

Hope that answered some questions.

Toniola, with a little practice you can achieve excellent resultswith the kit lens, but I always think it's nice having a good quality zoom. The 70-200mm F4L is a good price for such a quality lens. Ive only had it a couple of months. Before that I had USM 70-300 and won't be going back to it :)
After thoselenses, the 50mm f1.8 is cheap and very very good.
Thanks for all the comments guys:)

just a suggestion. Every now and then I harken back to my dial up days and reminisce about all of the picy's I didn't see because I couldn't stand the waiting. With a link to a page you can get a thumbnail view and open the ones that intrigue you, that was all I meant by that post.
I did enjoy the shots and I'm sorry if I came across as being snarky.
