Hi folks,

Does anyone know if the Z750/850 have an internal IR cut filter? As far as I know, many small cameras have only IR coated lens (because of no space for true IR filter on CCD). So I'm curious, if these small Casios have the IR blocking filter on CCD or just IR coated lens? Anyone have some photos of disassembled Z750/850 with a detail image of CCD?

Thanks!

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your shots! I already saw them in the past and they are very nice! :) I'm just curious how the Casio Z750/850 blocking the IR light and if this "limitation" can be physically removed to make the camera able shotting the handheld IR photos, which should be possible with removed IR cut filter ;)

"It does take nice IR shots with an R72 filter:
red channel switched to blue"

Sue,

I love your IR photo's. How do you attach the R72 Filter Casio 75/85? I do not understand what you mean or how to do it "red channel switched to blue? Please explain.

I own a z120, quite similar to the z750, and was able to take ir shots
in a very cheap way.

I have a thread about making an adapter to hold lenses, and so does another member here.

I think the search engine is still messed up though, so I will try later on to find the links.
Here is a photo of my homemade adapter:

The channel mixer is in some art programs like Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, but you can also use the replace color function to get similar results.

Sue,

Thank you. Those links have have expanded my view of what can be done with the 750/850. There are just so many people that think outside the box.

Those are terrific! I'll bet you would really love an R72 filter
though. I got mine on ebay for about $30, and it was worth every
penny! I might have to try your method just for fun :)
