I like my Tamrac straps. I have 3 different ones but they all use the same quick-release buttons so I can use the correct strap for the right occasion (foam for heavy loads, thin rubber for on the go, padded for in between).

Hey that's a pretty cool idea, Chuck. I've been doing similar to you, keeping the camera under my left arm. With a long lens and hood on, I can rest the end of the hood on my fingers. But I have the strap on both sides of the camera, and have just been rotating the neck strap to make it work. I'll give your 2-on-1 attachment method a try, and see if it works better.Attach both sides of the strap to the left hand (non-grip) side of
the camera.
I never could stand neckstraps either and have these on all of my cameras. Please explain what you mean by a wrist strap. I've noticed the
disconnects on my Optech straps and was wondering what they were
used for. Post a picture if you can.
Thanks
I'm guessing that you're a bit younger than I am, as I remember Mercedes owners doing exactly that a number of years ago. The lettering on the trunk indicating what model, turbo, etc were removed to prevent thieves from id'ing the most expensive models. This was different from removing the hood ornament when parking to prevent that from being stolen off the car.Maybe if you take the decals off your car, people won't know what
model it is, and won't steal it.

This was widespread and continued for a few years....the practice
has since died out, so at least today, it's a strategy that no
longer works.

--I want to know who wears their camera w/long lens around their
necks!!! My 30D w/grip and 70-200L IS weighs in at a hefty 6.6
lbs. I NEVER wear it around my neck, but sling it over my shoulder
instead. I find the Canon strap to be of high quality and the
non-slip backing works very well. It also stuffs into a camera bag
easily compared to some other neoprene ones I have used in the
past. The advertisement argument is just plain silly. Your gear
gives you away every time. And sometimes you WANT to advertise
that you are "press" when you are at events since you get hassled
less by security. My .02.
Hi Everyone.
After about 2 years of photography I have finally seen the light
and have upgraded my Panasonic FZ20 to a Canon 30D. I couldn't be
happier.
I do have a question for everyone. Personally, I cannot stand the
camera stap that came with the camera. To me it says STEAL ME all
over it because the word CANON is printed in big white letters on
the front of it. It can be seen for miles.
If I were to replace the strap, what would you recommend?
Thanks!
--cars look much better without them. I always pull of most all the
logos....with some minor exceptions.
