Hi -

I shot this today with my S9500 and wondered if anyone could give me a link for a free program to straighten it. The weather was somewhat poor and as I made a special journey to shoot it I am a little disappointed. C+C welcome.

Cheer me up with your pic please.

Regards Barr1e

Barrie. I like it. It only needs minor adjustments. Do you by any chance use a mac and shoot raw. I have recently discoverd a program called Raw Developer. It will allow minor straightening. Although it is not free, it is a good program.

Thanks Beth -

No, I use XP and Photoshop.

I see I need my hands slapping - when I looked on further through the thread somebody had beaten me to it (WDYSPT). So to make up for it here is the rear of the Abbey. (Any excuse).

Hi Barr1e,

I cant help you with a program but I too am interested in the answer, rotation correction is easy in ps but there is no provsion to correct parallax, that I know of.

Here is one taken a few days ago outside an art gallary after dinner, shot thru glass, this creature was haning from the ceiling, I dont normally glorify this kind of creature but the colors were interesting so I shot him. Normally like to give them room in the direction they are looking but Im thinking of keeping the shadow on the left, any thoughts on that............just finding time to pp one a day lately!

Some shots from around Memorial Park and Downtown Houston - processed a little with my very basic PP knowledge with Picasa.

6. This one was a very challenging scene for the camera (any camera that is - with all the contrast), Average metering turned in a pretty good result IMO.

Comments and criticism welcome - especially criticism please (I want to improve). Thanks in advance,

Sinan

Wow -

Thanks to all - I didn't expect so many to respond - most pleasing.

Nice to see some old friends - hi.

Once again thanks - out clicking again today for a competition - I don't seem to do so well in those I enter - however since doing so it has improved my eye and you never know!

Yes the Abbey is St.Albans I'm pleased the wife and I travelled some distance to get there. Here's another shot (the last as it might get boring) from inside.

Kind regards to all - Barr1e

Hi Barrie
Here's a quick fix with PSP

In PS. Select the image.
Then you need to play with "Edit" "transform" "perspective"

Nice shot Barr1e. Picasa is free but unfortunately it doesn't
straighten. PSP X will straighten images. It can be gotten very
inexpensively. Its generally under $100, but I have seen deals with
rebates where it its under $50 like this one

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AONOLI/104-6660690-3881538?v=glance&n=229534
Picasa2 will fix it.It has a straighting adjustment

Hi Sel -

Mmmm - I see I need to go and loan the book a little longer from the library.

Thank you for the solution - I have actually managed to correct the pic myself - not quite as successfully as yours - but I'm going to go a little slower to practise the new technique (to me, that is).

Hope all is well in NZ and the winter not too cold.

Kind regards. Barr1e

You're absolutely right. I don't know how I missed that. Its right there in basic fixes below the crop option. So there you go Barr1e, a totally free option for straightening out your pictures.
