Nice shots. Which camera, lens, exif, etc?
Thanks.

The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse in him to keep looking.

Constructive criticism? How could I offer any? The shots are great! I've been living in Kuala Lumpur for more than 20 years now and most of these scenes I have taken for granted. You made me want to grab my camera and go take some shots. They are all excellent!

Those 2 beautiful women are Russian by the way. Imported by local modelling agency Andrew's Models for the local fashion scene. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I love your city there is so much to see and do, it was my first time there and it REALLY suprised me. It was so much better than I epected, I loved the friendly nature of everyone and the attitude of everyone. You have some great scenes in that city so get out there and take as many shots as possible.

Thanks. Alex.

p.s. the smog is really hard to edit out :(

Hi again,

To get the shots in #4 and #5 you have to be up on the Sky Bridge. It was a really hazy day that day unfortunantly but I managed a few shots.

Thanks, anyone with some critiques?

Alex.

Hello Alex,

Glad you had a great experience in my country. I esp love Shot #3, that is by far the most interesting angle of the twins I've seen so far. The one shot at dusk (Shot #7) was also very interesting as it brought out a different character to the twins; they usually look like two cobs of corn set out against a dark blue sky but in your shot the city looks like Vegas! Cool.

Did you shoot them all in raw? Shot #2 of the twins seems to have been processed thru DPP with Landscape picture style. I like the colors on the building, however the skin tones seem a little too saturated, a characteristic of Landscape pic style.

Cheers.

I've passed through and stayed in KL so many times it almost feels like home.

Great pics. Next time I'm there I'll spend more time walking around to get some more Petronas Tower pics. I am not usually a lover of modern buildings but the Petronas Towers are truly beautiful.

I always think it's a shame that d* ned other building is right next to the towers!!!

Some KL and Asia pics of mine here:

Ah yes, the smog! The dreaded smog!! Actually it happens about twice a year during the dry spells when neighbouring Indonesia sets fire to her jungles to make way for agriculture.

But it's been raining these few days and looking out of the window this morning it looks like last nights rain has cleared all traces of smog. I can see them Petronas twin towers from 10 Kilometers away. Do visit us again and pick the rainy season for clearer skies and beautiful vistas.

I leave for KL tomorrow night and am getting excited, thanks for posting the photos, where did you take the Petronas shots, like shot #1 from? It looks like a nice vantage point. I also love the Menara Telekom tower view towards KLCC.

Hi folks,

Thanks for your lovely comments! Just in response to the picture processing, I did not use picture styles, I processed through Apple Aperture and and ran velvia vision on shots like #2. I think the oversaturation of the skin tones might be coming from the fact that my laptop screen is'nt fully calibrated, also ad to the fact that I did'nt shoot with a flash when I was there, so it made it difficult. I took the shot more for compositional worthiness, never-the-less I will try dumb down the saturation.

Thanks for your comments. Any more critiques would still be very welcome!

Hello Alex. I am a loyal poster on the Sony forum however I am considering the advantages of purchasing the Canon 5D with the 24mm-105mm f4 L series lens and while browsing the Canon forum in the hope of inspiring my decision process I viewed your pictures. Despite having slightly blown highlights in your picture (number 3) your capture really does stand up and in my opinion is an absolutely fantastic picture which I am sure you are proud of. I read that you have taken all your pictures with the 1D mkII however have you any experience with the stated combination of camera and lens or other lenses which ideally compliment the 5D? Please would you or anyone that has an excellent working knowledge of these products be decent enough to suply me with pertinent information. Thank you.

Nice, real nice.
