Royal International Air Tattoo

Love them all - can almost smell the Jet A, exhaust and hear the jets. I missed this year's Andrews Air Force Base Annual Joint Services Open House (JSOH) so I'm all set for next year. Thanks for sharing!

Here are links some of my pics from previous JSOH shows:

'Cleared to land runway three four left'

Saw some 400mm and 420mm focal length shots- use a 100-400 zoom w/ tele-converter?

Color, composition all great; makes me want to run out to the next airshow. Very interesting to see up the jet engines on planes flying away from you. Thanks for the post.

Nice shots of various aircraft that were in attendance. Sharpness was very consistent which speaks a lot for the photographer as well as the lens....robby

I also had a lot of unsharp ones, mainly due to using slow shutter speeds with long lenses to get propellor movement in the ones with fans on the front.

Gald you enjoyed them.

Hi

Great shots, beutifully exposed. may I ask, how did you determine correct exposure. Did you point at the sky and add 1 stop for example.

Hi Phil
Hi

Great shots, beutifully exposed.
Thank you kind sir!
may I ask, how did you determine
correct exposure. Did you point at the sky and add 1 stop for
example.
I used to do it that way, these days I use evaluative the exposure setting and it seems to get it right most of the time, usually within about a half stop and certainly better than my guess work.

I have also tried incident light readings, metering off the grass etc. etc. but the evaluative setting seems towork best. for me.

Cheers

Bob
