F2 mode, finally

This morning this old steam roller told me it wanted its portrait in F2 mode, so I obliged. Many thanks to those who advised me to use F2 on manmade things...

Excellent use of the F2 Crystal. I don't believe it's just for man made stuff. You just have to have enough light and not too much DR.

The worn out pastel colors on these equipments have helped you capture a color saturatation that you may have not been to capture in this light otherwise.

The lens is Nikon 60mm micro.

with a little PP. Levels to pull in each end, USM and a little saturation boost.

I shot RAW for awhile to learn the settings, but now I prefer jpeg except in situations where I have a huge DR and am not sure I'll get a great exposure in the time I have for the shots.

Its so much faster to shoot jpeg. I don't mind RAW converting, but now that I know the S3 settings better, I can make better decisions on what to use for good OOC Jpegs.

Nice captures, Crystal.

F2 has given them a great impact and solidity, exactly like an engine should be. Can't get much more solid than a steam roller!

The only thing that terrifies me about F2 is forgetting to unset it after use.
