##CTF Mini-Challenge 116 – The Color Blue##

Three good entries, each of them interesting in its own way. I like the atmosphere in the first one. The second one is a bit too tightly cropped, both at the top and the bottom, IMHO, and the third one represents a simple but effective use of reflection. I would clone out the rope in the lower left corner though.

Always good to see entries that are different. ;)

While the first picture is quite interesting in its subject, I find the other two photos much better. I especially like the third one with its simplicity and composition. The second picture has great contrast with both colors and buildings. It almost looks like a composite. Good work!

The panorama is great, but it looks a bit washed out and too blue - it's so blue it almost looks surreal. The second one is a good catch with the subject standing out due to shallow DOF, and the third one is more violet than blue. ;)

I like the first one. Lighting effects can make for really good photo ops. I also like the composition. The second one I'm a bit confused about. I think it has potential but should have been shot from another angle to really make the composition work. The last one is a classic minimalist photo - good, but a bit colorless.

Great entries! I could look at the first one for a long time and still find interesting points to look at. The second one is just as good in my book. The play of reflections and pattern of the building wall is another great object for photographers and you saw it. While there is nothing wrong with the last picture, it just doesn't have the same appeal to me as the other two photos.

Good choice of subject! The third one is my favorite, but the first two are not bad either.

And I have a suggestion for next challenges: would you please enter all three photos in one post to save space for other participants. As we all know, usually there are 150 posts in a matter of a few days and then a new thread has to be started. Thanks!

Three minimalist photos, all good ones. I love the composition and the combination of colors in the first photo. A very interesting plant in the second one! It looks like a metal sculpture painted green. :) In the third photo I like the angles the plants and their reflections make.
Good work!

... #2 is not a composite, just played around in PSP x and Photoshop. I am glad you like the result, I do too.

I see that, it is quite a marvel to look at and is very photogenic. I like you picture of the arch through the trees, I tried to take a different angle of the arch, I think it came out quite nice.
LOL, I posted a Gateway Arch photo too, after you did. I love the
interesting angle of your shot.

it was a hard one to save. I had to go ISO 1600 and strongly underexpose at f5.6 to capture it "still". I was amazed in the end how much more detail was "locked " in the image in these conditions, without significant noise...some of it I was able to recover...

here's another one, shot taken at an exhibition of my students.

thanks for your feedback. I agree the 3rd one is not as interesting as the others. I thought I'd include a shot taken with my old G2 that that's just one that popped into mind.
great challenge, lots of interesting entries so far!
