I just got an UZI for my wife for Christmas. Looking for suggestions for a bag.

Anyone use the Topload Zoom Mini? Or is this too small for the UZI?

What about the D-Res 40aw?

Any other suggestions (Lowepro or others)? I'd do a search, but the search feature is still turned off.

Thanks!

adad... Try the Lowepro Linx 120... stylish... topload, 2 side pockets... fits the UZI and E100 like a glove (sort of).--Steve B.

Something like this may be the best way to go. I was hoping for something a little more compact, but that may not be practical. It does look like a nice bag.

Thanks & take care...

The TLZ mini fits like a glove. It'll hold the camera, the video cable, two sets of extra batteries and extra smartmedia cards and is very compact.

I agree - the TLZ 1 is perfect for the 2100.

Based on feedback I read here I picked up a mini yesterday.
It does fit, but more like a snug glove. It's a bit tight closing the top,
especially with the viewfinder toward the back. I also have some concerns
about the level of drop protection if you lose your grip when hand
carrying this bag. "Lens down" to me seems like the worst possible
position? Only that thin layer of foam, and the nose taking the brunt
of the impact? Not that there's a "good" way to drop a camera.
That said... I'm keeping it as it fits better on my hip, and I really like the
side that opens is next to me for easy access. Just wish the
belt loops were the double velcro kind I could get on/off without
undoing my belt.

I've got the Mini and use it whenever I'm traveling "lite". I can put it in my larger bag when I'm going for a day of shooting and want my B300, WA and flash equipment. Got mine at Ritz camera and they had all the Loewpro bags of this type so had a chance to try the different sizes. Liked the "Mini" for the lean and mean days.

Here is what I am doing and it works for me. I use two bags.

I have a Lowpro Nova 3 which will fit the 2100, b-300, b-28, a bunch of filters, mini tripod, cables, cards, batteries. . .etc. I use this when traveling to keep all my stuff together.

I also use a Tamrac 515 which holds the camera and has a bigger pocket than the 5516. The 515 will hold the camera, three sets of batteries, cards and one or two filters in cases. I then bought two large lens cases designed to attach to the side of the case which I use when carrying the b-300 and/or b-28. They also provide space to carry filters and other stuff as needed. When I don't carry extra stuff, they detach. By the way, I put an old pad from an old carera case in the nose of the case for extra protection should there be a "nose drop".

I had a TLZ Mini and felt that it was too snug. I worried that the display would get scratched. The 515 gives about 1-1 1/2 inches of room so when I added an upgraded strap, the strap fit in. I don't think that it would have fit into the TLZ Mini.

Cases are personal to everyone. Take your camera to the store or a few stores and try it out and see what pleases you, not everyone else.

Hi all,

Any suggestions for a bag, Tamrac or Lowepro that will hold a C3030 and C2100 together. It would be nice to have a bag that could hold both.

I wanted a bag that I could carry the camera and few accessories that would withstand any weather for a trip to China and Tibet. The D-Res240W was incredible. Has a waist strap, a rain cover, and room for the UZ2100, batteries, small tripod, and a small case for extra memory. Great case that just coddles my UZI no matter where I take it.

Thanks everyone for all the comments.

She liked the D-Res 40aw. The small size will, I hope, encourage her to take it with her just about anytime, anywhere.

However, if I give in to this urge to get a b-300, we'll need a bigger bag, too!

The D-Res240AW is all that small either, somewhat similar in overall dimensions as my Nova Mini I believe?

If I were not carrying around any extra lenses or a second camera I think I would have gone for a Topload Zoom 1 or Toplaod Zoom Mini. The TLZ Mini is available at BestBuy for around $20 if I remember correctly. MY bag was $25.
