I'm soon leaving the world of the cp990 for that of the D30. But, one thing I don't want to leave behind is macro photography. So, I'm including the 100 f2.8 macro in my initial purchase.
The Canon EF lens specification sheet doesn't mention the 100 macro as being compatible with the EF 1.4x extender, only the 180 in their macro lenses. So, my question is, is there a good 1.4x extender solution for the 100 macro? I'm looking at a three lens setup, 24f2.8, 50f1.4, 100f2.8 macro, rather than the 28-135 IS. But I would like a bit more telephoto than the 160mm equivalent of the 100 macro.
At this point, the cost of 200mm+ glass is outside of the initial purchase budget. Any thoughts?
