I always see posts only about the 7D probLems. No one ever posts about problem free D7's. So I would like to start a post here about how many are out there that have a problem free D7. Please post also how long you have owned the camera. I am about to purchase a D7. I read so much good about the camera. But I think my confidence level would really build if I could see 150 posts here of problem free D7'S!
Will be keeping an eye on this post!

Camera's owned:
Casio
Olympus 600L
Olympus 620L
Nikon 990
Sony DSC-F707
Sony DSC-F717
Sony DSC-F828
and now a 717 again!

My brand new 7D seems problem free, though it's too early to tell. I got it as a replacement for my previous 7D which was a lemon (AF and shutter release problems). Does that help? ;-)

If I were you, I would go for the A100. It doesn't have the fabulous 7D interface and viewfinder, but otherwise it seems like a safer bet.

I think this thread is a very good idea - we only hear about the problem cameras.

FWIW, bought my 5D in December and no problems either...

I have enjoyed my 7D trouble-free since 11/04. It is my first digital camera and it has served as the ideal tool to launch out onto the j-curve of learning about photography. The 7D seems to have the ideal balance of kinetic hardware controls for 'in the moment' adjustments vs. preset electronic menu options. This forum has also been a goldmine of insight to a novice. Thanks to all the knowledgeable members who share their expertise!

Though I havn't used much say not more than 5000 pic.

Trouble free 7D for over a year, and 5D with no problems at all since January 2006.

Recent Photos from the cameras using BeerCan (70 -210 F4) and KM 28-135 can be seen at the following link:

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming, 'WOW! What a ride!!'

No problems with the 7D bought March 2005. Same with both macro flashes, 5600HSD flash, a whole bunch of D series lenses. And it's all been used lots.
