It's sometimes nice to hear about others life changes, but from
your post I really couldn't tell what they were exactly.
Good luck though!
I have been a photographer for 30 of 39 years. I have seen some
interesting things happen in the last 10 for sure. There is a film
I became good at using by the time I was 19. I don't want to say
exactly what it is since this is a public forum, but the film will
be gone in less than 3 years. I don't believe it should just
disappear....not this one anyway.
It is pretty clear to me that this is an important stage in my
life. I can do this stuff justice, I am reaching my prime in many
ways, it's perfect timing. The stuff is magical, it has a narrow
zone of exposure which makes it all the more interesting when used
right. I now have hundreds of rolls of it, some 60 of a version
that had stopped manufacture years ago.
You just know in your heart when something is more than an idea or
a goal.
With digital, you have a lot of control. With certain films, you
have very little. With this film, you pair up with it's
characteristics. You surrender all your control to the film and
your ability to just roll with it, to be in complete sync with it.
This stuff has a mind of it's own, you are along for the ride.
The life change is being totally able to see a dream through, to be
part of history, a part of something bigger than the next great
dig-cam.
Much bigger.
