I sure had to wait a long time for this... but today it finally happened. I had to run outside with my camera in one hand trying to protect it from the snow with my other hand, which also contained my tripod - not easy. Anyway, seems like my camera survived :).

Arjan,

I envy you your snow, and I like this shot -- I love the long, deserted, street. I like the color, too: is it due to the street lights?

Since you want it, I hope you get more snow :-)

With respect,

adrienne

Oh, you're so lucky, Arjan. I'm still waiting and longing. There's nothing like the first snow and you caught this one so well. This picture gives me the feel of the quiet and wonder and beauty of snow. Love the footprints, too. Great shot. Thanks, Jan

Arjan, I like what you did here. There was certainly a lot of potential in that scene. Would love to have seen you explore it further.

Good afternoon Arjan,

Thanks for the snowscape. I assume the color cast is from the streetlights? Be careful what you hope for :-).

Thanks.

Nice shot. And congrats on your apparently long awaited event.

Happy holiday shooting, Rick

Thanks, Larry. I'm not saying I don't like the warmth, but I sure like the snow too :).

The colors are pure street lights, indeed. It's a bit more red in this picture than it is in reality, but the colors are still beautiful here.

Thanks, Rich. I would probably have done that, if it wasn't snowing so darn hard :). I did some shooting from my window, but that wasn't near as impressive as on the street. Holiday cheers back to you!

Hugh, thanks for the comments. The streetlights did indeed give me that strange red color.

(note: it's good evening here)

AVL Where in the Netherlands do you live? Looks like the street I lived on in DenHaag, with the giant ESSO building at the beginning of the street. DL--Dog Leader 2100/B300

Not a chance, I live in Eindhoven :). Well, these streets all look the same, don't they? When did you live in Den Haag?

1975-75, married my Irish girl at the Court House, neither of us understood the vows, great fun, I still kid her we are not really married because I didn't understand the vows. DL--Dog Leader 2100/B300
