It is a very nice picture except the title. You could have done
better ;-) I also like the y2360-sunset.
Good morning Pondria,

The title of the post or the file name of the picture?

Anyway, I'm glad you like it and 2360. Thanks for the comments.

Happy holidays.

hugh,

I think there's a conspiracy afoot to keep me from responding to your posts. :-( But the forum seems stable enough for the time being so that I can tell you (as have many others already) that there's a lot of outstanding work here. Wonderful, low light color, and I love the bird positioned so gently in the frame. Nice work!

Robert
Another low light attempt, this time with a bit of color.

Good afternoon Robert,

Between problems here, and with pbase, it has been a chore keeping up. Hopefully, both will stay up for a while. By early next year, I hope to have a web site up so I won't be dependent on pbase.

I am having a great time with the low light projects. I just grin all over that others are enjoying them as much as I.

I'm beginning to think I need to get a trained bird so I can be sure to have one for every picture :-).

Thanks again for the feedback and compliments.

With appreciation,

Good afternoon Hugh

I love the low light silhouette treatment in this picture along with the color. These egrets are fun to watch. I have seen them methodically and very slowly walk the entire circumference of a small pond in search of dinner. Unfortunately, that was before I had a camera:-))

Take Care

Good afternoon Craig,

I'm glad you like the picture. The egret was a bonus, but he certainly added a valuable element to the picture. Here in Florida, there are lots of them, but they are usually not so cooperative.

Thanks for the comment.

I thought I already posted a reply to this, noticed just a minute ago that I didn't. Shame on me. Hugh, please keep these low light pictures coming, 'cause they're absolutely gorgeous, this one being no exception. I like the way you framed the silhouette. Thanks.

Good evening Arjan,

More likely shame on the database. The forum has been less than reliable the last couple of days.

I have a couple more sessions "in the can" and three or four more planned.

I'm very pleased that you enjoy them. The natural framing is something I keep an eye out for, but it doesn't always work out as well as it did here.

Thanks for the comment and the encouragement.

Hello Hugh,

I am just getting over a day of stomach virus and lack of dsl due to Verizon upgrades. Not that I was capable of going online anyway with the stomach problems.

So I finally got to see these new images. For some reason PastelShade2 makes me feel like I am getting ready to bowl. I like the image with the long expanse of lawn leading up to the silhouetted leaves and bird. I just feel like I want to knock the bird down. I like the deeper pink of PastelShade3 and wonder how you trained this bird to stay. I like the way that the images get progressively more silhouetted in 4 and 5 with 5 being the ultimate test of imagination in attempting to create familiar shapes from their outlines.
SunsetReflection2 is my favorite of the reflections shots.

A set of very relaxing images living up to the title of low light but certainly having high interest value.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I hope you recover soon.

Please, be gentle with my trained bird :-).

He was being very patient so I took advantage.

Of course, the effort was in the interest of capturing the reflected light. The bird and the natural framing were elements available, therefore used.

I like it as well. I think maybe the signs of people make it less "alone" than the others.

Well, as always I appreciate your time and effort in not only looking but in analyzing as well.

Good luck in your recovery.

With gratification.

Hi Hugh,

I saw some shades of pastel early this morning, 6:00, on my way to north FL and I thought of your low light pictures which are very nice BTW. Sounds like your from the same part of the county as I am, refering to your "supper time".
Photo #2359 looks exactly like my back yard!! When did you pay me a visit?

Good evening Ron,

A fine compliment indeed, that pastel skies remind you of my pictures. I'm flattered. I was born and raised, and have lived in the South all my life. So, yeah, we eat supper.

If you live in Orlando, off of N Orange Blossom Trail, just north of Hwy 50, I visited last week. Otherwise, I need better directions :-).

Thanks for the comments and compliments.

hugh:
beautiful shots, great colors. my favorites are the
pastel-sunset(wide under tree) and both of the sunset reflections.
thanks for sharing.
Good afternoon lou,

The wide sunset was actually the picture I intended. The others were generated by the circumstances. Thank you so much for the kind words. The sharing is my pleasure.

With appreciation,

hugh
