Sony Flash

Hi STF'rs,

I am considering the Sony HVL-F1000 flash for my S85 to try and improve my indoor pictures. Can I get some feedback from anyone who has experience with this flash. Is the flash hinged so you can bounce it off the ceiling?

yes it is hinged

I have seen a thread that claims the F1000 has been replaced by the F1100

Hi Harvey - Yes, it does rotate up for bounce. I asked a similar question recently and got lots of feedback. Here's the thread:

HI Matthew,

Thanks for the thread. I am going to go through it now. Before I start do you know if the 1000 has been replaced by the 1100.

I don't think the 1100 is a new flash. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I think the 1100 is their flash for Sony digital video cameras (for still modes).

You are correct Matthew,

I did some checking and found that to be true.

I ordered the 1000 from Dell and should get it in a few days. They have them in stock. Good price and free next day shipping.
