It amazes me that the just a few days ago "idiots" were instructed what they should and should not post in STF to keep it interesting...then people post nothing just for the sake of beating another forum in posts. I would much rather try to help a newbie with an issue or question even if it has been reviewed 100 times before than read posts about how wonderful we are because we can post about nothing in order to pass another forums numbers. This forum used to be a great spot to get assistance even for newbies. I personally think it's kind of a shame.

(1) It's over.
(2) We were just having some fun.

(4) You didn't have to read the posts.

I am personally not concerned, although I will say that it does add to clutter. Although, I am sure that someone could say the same thing about several of my threads.

Teresa, I must have missed the post you are talking about. It's been pretty hectic here lately and, as the forum has been scrolling so rapidly, I've missed a lot. I certainly hope no one was called an 'idiot'. I also hope none of the regulars here would be so gauche as to proscribe posting rules.

I agree with you that questions and requests for help should get the highest priority. I always thought that we did pretty good in that department.

As for silly posts, I don't think a few dozen lame and frivolous messages in over a hundred thousand count for much. (We certainly would have passed Canon by the end of the year anyway.)

Part of what I like about the forum is the rampant adolescent humor (of which I am proudly guilty,) irreverent commentary and wide-ranging interests of our members. I know many have commented that other forums seem 'stuffy' (or worse) and that some who have graduated from Sony digicams, still come here for the camaraderie.

I agree with Teresa to a certain extent. Quality should have priority over quantity.

That said, it is the end of the year, everyone's just looking for a good time and some fun, and considering the events of this year, we do need to loosen up and let our hair down... although I've let down too much hair already! Anyone got a good recommendation for a hair growth tonic?

Personally, I'd rather see people have fun doing something silly than see them go out their way to reward another person's laziness.

And will.
Ian, several of your threads have added clutter to the forum.

I don't know, Tig. When I asked my doctor how I could save my hair he handed me a baggie.

Teresa,

Do you know what humor is? Do you know when "one is having one on"? Do you know what fun is? I think you are caught up in the same web I was caught up in a few weeks ago with BFS and LEVBFS. It's called "AHHHHHHHHHHHHh, I've had enough!!!!!!....LOL. Let's have some fun. Let's post more pics, let's exhuberate levity in this forum.

We still help the newbie here. I always post where I have knowledge pertaining to the post.

If you think we're here solely to surpass another forum in posts...get a clue. We're here to help STFers surpass each other in our abilities by providing hints, tips and techniques to achieve a higher purpose, to mean something, to be something. This forum counts!!!

Teresa, stick around and you'll get a handle on who-how-what goes on here at STF, I think overall we get on like a house on fire and help each other just fine. Merry Christmas

Tigadee, didn't you know that when you get older your hair does not actually fall out, it just goes back into your skull and comes back out later in life through your nostrels, eyebrows and ears hehehe....it WILL come back, just not out your scone. Merry Christmas to all STF'ers downunder and uptop.
