New products from Nikon soon?

I've read some of the threads here discussing the introduction of new products from Nikon.

On the official swedish Nikon website there is an ongoing "campain". The text on the red curtain (swedish) says approximately "Premiere soon". And the text below says "Want to hear from us when it is time?"
Any similar campains on the international Nikon sites?

On the USA site http://nikonusa.com/template.php?cat=1&grp=2 there are "new Low prices" for several cameras, inlcuding the D50 and D70s. They are getting a little old by digital camera standards, so I would think replacements are on the way. Reducing the price is usually the first step in clearing out existing stocks, then comes rebates, and then the new cameras.

Just my opinion.

I bet not - IMHO it makes no sense to update the D50, but it has to be replaced with a model with more MP somewhere not so far in the future (8 MP at least, see the competition).

And with the D70s it was not to update the D70, but to streamline production with the D50.

Regardless, I just ordered a D50 from one of the last suppliers in Sweden that held one. Maybe I should have waited if there will be a new model soon but impatiance is one of my virtues.

So far it's all rumours only regarding the successors of D70s and D50 - and nobody knows yet when they will be available, this might still take some time.
So you did the right thing and bought the camera NOW as you want it NOW.
