Kite Surfers [8 x img]

Hello Lance!
Very colored and motion images, clean, neat, wonderfull.

Very funny to see that yours are almost the same than mines from my part of the world (Quebec, Canada). I've done few shots weeks ago and it is similar :o)

I'll take minutes later this weekend and post it here as a reply....you'll see. :)

Greets!

Hi Lance,

Excellent pictures in every respect! I see that you used high end lenses in windy conditions with potential salt water and sand spray. I was wondering if you took any special precautions to protect your excellent lenses. I live in eastern Massachusetts, not too far from the coast, and, so far, have been reluctant to bring my limited lenses with me when I go to take sea side shots. I usually end up using zoom lenses with UV filters attached even though I prefer not to use filters in general.

I didn't go onto the sand and was able to shoot from the car park and therefore no sand was being blown onto the gear. Also, the wind was coming from the side so nothing was being blown onto the front elements. I do not normally use protective filters and I did use a polariser on some of those shots but if I was going to shoot with wind and salt air blowing onto the front elements I would probably use a protective filter and something to stop the sand and wind on the camera, like a plastic bag or some such device.

Nice shots. The last image is my favorite.

I see on the other side of the world kitesurfers where their shorts on the outside of their suits too. If I ever take up kiting I'll have to shoot myself if I do this. ;^)

Without gravity, what would we do with water?
