This is for all those who are looking for the best 'highstreet' prices in London (rather than 'online' prices) for the Fuji F30:

Curry's = £279.99
PC World = £279.99
Dixons = £279.99
Jessops = £279.99
Jacob's = £279.99
Camera World = £279.99

as you can see, they're all the same. But...

Selfridges = £249.00

Now thats a surprise, and its not in the sale! (I was in there today).

But remember, if you prefer to buy elsewhere, they will usually pricematch other highstreet prices (they usually do not match online prices).

If anyone knows better, please let us know?

(Please no 'online prices', as this is for us to try and find the cheapest highstreet price, so we can all pricematch and gradually bring down the current bloated pricetag).

Cheers,

Ian

Today i drove not too many miles into Clitheroe, Lancashire town centre. Parked my car walked up the shopping street into the shop of:

ukdigital (30 Castle Street, Clitheroe, Lancashire BB7 2BX)

and asked to look at a F30 which i did and bought it there and then for the price of £229.

Good old fashioned face to face service, friendly and a two year warranty on a UK item.

They have both a shop in the centre of Clitheroe and an internet site and the price was the same either way.

Just to add, that whilst i appreciate logistically Clitheroe / London are many miles apart the fact remains that it is available on the high street in UK at £229- hope this helps with your price match efforts...

Yes - and a VERY good dealer they are. Did not know of their Clitheroe shop but I did buy (amongst a few other odds-n-ends) a Pentax *ist dSLR with super Pentax lens, from them some time ago now , at a total of £1,600, and I had NO cause to bother about their service generally.
A VERY good firm.

UKDigital. A much better price!

Shame I can only see one shop location (which is a bit far for me to travel to), but if we can pricematch wherever we live in the UK, then its a good thing...

Thanks for letting us know.

I'm gonna persist for a little while longer, to see if it'll go sub-£200.

I'm not against internet prices - I just prefer to test my cam, negotiate a deal (like a free memory card) with the seller, and leave knowing that if I have problems, I can return it myself and speak to a person directly.

The F30 is around $300 USD.

Yes -that's why we're all saying here in UK that it's a complete rip-off, grossly over-priced cam. Now that the F10/F11 also seems near impossible to get very easily, if only Fuji would make it at least comparable with US prices , they'd really do well on it. In fact , as things are right now I'm not sure just what Fuji has in a readily available and good update compact , to compare with the likes of Canon, Pana, Casio etc
