That would also explain why the 28mm 1.4 was discontinued and why the 35mm f2 is in short supply.

Maybe a Nikon equivalent to the Sigma 30mm 1.4 is coming.

Logic dictates that these were more specialized lenses until lots of people realized they made really good standard lenses on 1.5x sensors. I doubt they were ever made in quantities approaching the 50/1.8 or 50/1.4.

Just got one from KEH,

Been on the B&H mail me when in list for over a month.

Paid more from KEH for excellent + than new from KEH, but as the old comedy routine goes, they have the tomatos.

Here in Taiwan, they have been out of this lens for 8 months!! The local dealer who's a good friend, said the word from the distributor is that as far as Taiwan is concerned, consider them extinct..

So I ASSUME they will replace it with like a 30mm F1.8 DX. I hope so..

Finally found a local deal who has ONE left.. Wanted an outrageous price for it..
 
i just tend to assume that since the forum here strongly recommanded this 35/2 therefore most of people go for it, it is a human nature that people goes majority opinions but i am right opposite. I have got 35/2 and sigma 30/1.4. to me the sigma 30/1.4 far more better than the 35/2.

same thing with 50/1.4 and 1.8 most of the people think 50/1.8 far more better than the 50/1.4, again I don't think so. just be your own master, don't follow anybody what they says, everybody has different views on things but you are the one to make your own decision.

all the good stuffs don't need commercial advertising, I never buy anything strongly recommanded, it seems to me working well, never get ripped off

I work in costa mesa....How much did you pay for it?
