yes folks...just like the sticker survey, this will be regarded as highly useless info with only one purpose to drive up the STF post count...lmao

Ok....when you all first got your Sony cameras, there was a thin black "Lens Cap Strap".

This strap, according to the manual, was supposed to be attached to the cap then to the camera shoulder strap.

Who has actually done this?

my answer: NO lens cap strap...cap goes in pocket once i take it off.
con: almost lost it once...heehee--cheers

Convoluted answer...

1. I started according to the book, lens cap strap on shoulder strap. (Dislike Sony strap!)

2. Bought Targus Pro Black case and removed strap from camera (LOVE the Targus bag strap), no lens cap (stupid, huh?).
3. Finger print on lens (told you), lens cap back on.

4. Couldn't find lens cap (daughter took it off the desk while dad was shooting), lens cap strap back on attached to shoulder strap loop.

More iterations to come but lens cap strap will probably stay attached to loop.

I blindly followed the instruction manual. Thought "no cap on strap" might void the warranty!

What about a protective filter. I've got a standard UV but am not sure if I'm going to keep it on.

My strap became without its battery, so I couldn't attach it.

Zipper,

I asked about the PRO to leave the cap off...
The dangling cap distracts you ?

... No cap but stickers, you should tape the cap to the lens barrel, or what about some velcro :))

I use it. I think that their lens cap design is great. If anyone can point me to another source of 58mm lens caps with built in loops for lens straps please let me know. I'd like to use them on all of my cameras. It is a much better solution that the typical sticky dot.

I tie mine to the camera ring...I've got the 707 case which attaches to the strap which I do...I find these useful so I don't drop things off of high places or into deep places...the case does look a little weird though hanging from the camera strap...LL

Sticker-off
Lens Cap-Attached as instructed. Why? Because it works.
Leaving the sticker on reminds me of some people that leave the paper

glued to the window of the new car that they just bought and tell everyone that they paid $8.000 less than it says.

Lens Cap attached to the camera (DSC-S85) as per instructions.
