Good Morning All!
(Normally, I hang out in the Canon 30D forum, but this seemed a more appropriate place to post this.)
THE FOLLOWING IS AN EDITORIAL COMMENT, AND THE PHOTOGRAPHS ATTACHED HEREWITH ARE CONSIDERED PART OF THAT EDITORIAL MATERIAL. (Gotta cover my butt legally!)
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of doing a shoot for a local modeling-escort company. Needed to do some shots of 4 young ladies. While doing the shoot at a local public beach, we actually got harassed by a woman for doing the shoot!
The shoot was very tasteful (bikinis and "boyshorts" as the girls call them). While doing the shoot, a woman who was about 200 feet away came over and started snapping photos of all of us with her camera phone. She started yelling at the girls that they were demeaning themselves for allowing such photos to be taken, came over to me and I explained that the ladies were cover per local regulations, and that we had an absolute right to be on the beach and taking photos. She started in on me, saying they could have picked a better looking photographer...I laughed at her, because I was married to a hot internet model and adult video star until recently (I left out the until recently part!), and then asked her to move on. She then stated that what we were doing was obscene, and she was calling the police!
I then grabbed by phone and made like I was calling the police myself, "explaining" the situation, and the woman hauls a** away from us, grabbed her hubby and kid and left the beach! (However, realize that I WOULD have called them if necessary.) I was almost rolling in the sand, it was so funny. We finished the shoot, got some great photos, and left.
Here are a few of the shots, including a couple of the harasser!
THE HARASSER:
First started harassing me:
Her expression when I told her I had called the police:
My point....no matter what, stand your ground. There have been many articles of late about photographer's rights. If we don't stand up when confronted, we will simply encourage people to walk all over us!
