Sounds good... where did you hear about this? I could not find the rebate form on the Pentax site. Can you provide a link?

you beat me to the punch... i kinda heard from a little fly about this through the rumor mills. for those interested in the DL, I hear it will be a fantastic buy after July 1....

Gaa!! That would bring to a level I could afford... I really want a D, but for that price... and I was going to wait a while to buy another camera, but...

hmm, I dont see anything that indicates a rebate on the Pentax site or B&H, where did you get this info?

Whats more important to you? Taking photographs that have great image quality, or taking photographs that are quality images?

Clearly, we wouldn't want to compromise the sources of the information. If we did, we may never get any future hints or tips. If the poster purposely didn't mention the source, lets leave it that way. Besides July is only 2 days away.

I heard the same thing from my local mom and pop today. Plus they will have rebates on their digicams also. Hmmm the T10 is looking very interesting......

Ahh but two days is a long time when your interested in something... I still think I need to convince myself that its not a wise purchase yet because I would probably want to shoot in RAW and my computer would choke unless I upgrade it... plus memory cards, some more rechargable AA's, and I would most likely want the kit lens... it starts getting more expensive then:)

The rebate does start on July 1st. How can anyone pass up this deal? They won't last long. This is designed to clear the market place of DL so the D110 can arrive. DLs will sell fast. What is this gonna do to our lens shortages. Argghh. I want the 10-17 too.

would the rebate work if I have already purchased the camera?
if not - when do I have to buy the DL, to get the rebate?
does it matter what store I buy the camera from?
how long does it take to get the rebate?
That's all the questions I have for now :))

I haven't seen the rebate offer, but if it is like all previous ones, you must buy the camera between specified dates and it sounds like this one will not start until July 1, so you are probably out of luck. Maybe you can return your camera and order another after July 1 if it was very recently purchased.

You must buy the camera from a registered US Pentax dealer who gets his stock from Pentax USA. "Parallel impots" and "grey market" cameras are not eligible for the rebate.

Typically 6 to 8 weeks after you send it in. Note that you must have a US address.

They will be extended. What choice do they have? There are people that have had lenses ordered for months and haven't received them yet.

Thanks Jim,

I bought the DL from Beach Camera yesterday. Today, right after I got my tracking number in the mail, I saw this thread.

When the rebate details come out tomorrow, I plan on calling Beach Camera and ask if I can return it and reorder it. Or see if they have any other suggestions.

Beach Camera is probably a registerred Pentax dealer, right?
