For those who are curious as to how DX lens work on 35mm film cameras, here are some examples. I used Tokina 12-24mm f/4 at 12, 15, 20, and 24mm. Used coolscan 9000ED. I also have 18mm, but having difficult time converting to jpeg.

12mm

15mm

20mm

24mm

it seems to be fairly sharp. it seems like at > 18mm you don't see any vinggneting, does that me we could use DX lens on Nikon FF (that if if they release one)?
Unlike Canon, I didn't have problem mounting the DX lens on the camera.

I guess if you had a collection of dx lenses but in the long run if you went ff you would probably switch, I would think if Nikon ever went that route they would keep a line of dx friendly cameras unless some scientist figures a miracle benifit to the ff and noiseless, and full dynamic range senser.
That is the only way I may upgrade other than having my d70 stolen or blow up.
