Just bought Manfrotto 441 tripod and Markins Q3 ballhead.

Could somebody who has similar tripod-head combination kindly explain me how to safely attach the ballhead to the tripod? Do I need to put something between the tripod and the ballhead ? There are three scews at the tripod plate. How should I use them ?

The ballhead should screw right on the tripod screw and then gently tighten the three screws to lock the ballhead and keep it from unscrewing itself. Hope that helps you. Good luck.

Thank you for the help ! Now I can try to attach the head.

Yesterday I had a choise between very similar Carbon One and 055MF3 tripods almost at the same price. I chose Carbon One because of lighter weight which is very important for me as well as tripod stability.

You have both Manfrotto Carbon One and Manfrotto 055MF in the equipment list. Which one do you use more often ?

Sorry it took so long to reply. I'm not at my laptop during the day. I probably use my Carbon one monopod more often because it's so easy to carry around and use instantly. I love the 055MF tripod, it's just not as handy for me to grab it and go. Good luck to you. Did you get the ballhead attached?

Yes. Thank you for the help with the ballhead ! And I like the new tripod. It weights less than 2 kg with head attached (400g head). Cannot wait to test it in the field. Unfortunately, it is rain season here in Korea, I have to wait for good weather now...
I like your unique helicopter photos. Have not seen anything like this before.

Thanks, it's a fun job, but I miss my wife and kids being away from home. Good luck to you! :)
