Being new to my digital camera, and haunting dpreview.com, as if to suck the marrow from it's bones, I stumbled into here to be ready for the next step, once I can make meaningful use of electrons with my Coolpix 995.

My thanks to one and all who have contributed to the debate of best reasonably priced color printer.

Something that might tip a few folks over, those with a shiney new camera to think of printing from. If you are thinking about that rebate from Epson on the 785EPX for $100 when you buy a qualifying d-camera recently, well, if you have a local Circuit City, this week's ad had a $50 gift card when you bought it.

Hmmmm. $300 Cannon S800 to replace my ol' HP 722, or $50 Epson, close in the running for photo quality...
I figured to role the dice. For $50, I can afford to try this printer.

I've read posts to make me think that there are more like me out there, so I figured I'd pass the word along.

I tried 2 Epson 785ex's. Both of them had great picture quality, but they both had tiny "pizza cutter" marks across the image (on photo quality paper). Try for yourself, you'll see.....

What are these "pizza cutter" marks you're referring to?
My 785 prints don't have any marks on them. I use the matte heavyweight paper.

I have used both epson and kodak paper and have found that I get the pizza tracks only on kodak paper. Using the epson paper the prints are near perfect. I wouldn't use ford parts in my dodge so I guess the trick is to use epson paper in an epson printer.

I only saw these marks when using glossy paper....
