There has been a lot of discussion on the F30's image quality and high ISO capabilities- but can anyone comment on it's speed. The F10 starts up quickly and AF is about as fast as any digicam, but what about the other metrics.

There still appears to be a 3 shot limit on its continuous mode. How long after can you take the next shot? Has this been improved? What about playback and image to image times? Any improvement here- or about the same?

thx in advance-

Just got mine off charge after having it delivered today. In a quick test it could do a photo about 1 every second in non continuous mode.

In the fast exposure mode it will take a photo every half a second i'd say which seems very quick to me.

But normal Auto mode photos take about 1 second each... again not bad if you ask me.

please post some pics, interested to see just some regular daylight pics and of course pictures of people/faces would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, just tried it...

continuous shoot-til-the-cows-come-home mode at any size and any compression is about 1.8 frames per second (11 frames in 5 seconds by my watch).

last-3 and first three mode shoots at 2.5 frames per second (might be 2.3, definitly faster than 2/sec), with a 4 second recovery time for small images and 7 second recovery time for large/fine images. This time includes the 2-3 seconds it takes while displaying the three images it has captured until the LCD comes back to real time and ready to shoot again.

I couldn't take more than about 7 images in 15 seconds under normal conditions.

Oh, shoot. No - I was thinking fps and meant spf. Sorry about that, didn't mean to get your hopes up. It's like my brain just made that up and my fingers typed it in without checking. It's more like 2 seconds per frame. Just rechecked it and it was taking a picture every other second with clocklike efficiency (indoors, office lighting).

Onca again ignore the first paragraph in my top post - it's bunk.

The second paragraph is still accurate.

yeah- that's a big difference in capability. 2fps vs 2spf.
One is pretty useful for sporting activities, the other not.

bummer. You got my hopes up.
