g2 good deal

I bought a new G2 on Ebay but you have to be very careful, especially when you’re talking about spending that amount of money.

I wouldn’t buy from a seller who has less then 20 transactions, any negative feedback (1), or has sunglasses (2).

(1) If the seller has a lot of transactions on Ebay, I would accept a 1% negative feedback rating.

(2) The sunglasses indicate that the seller has changed their Ebay user name. Generally speaking, that’s due to their receiving to many negative ratings. So I refuse to deal with those sellers.

The seller I bought my G2 from had 58 transactions (going back to 9-7-00), not one negative feedback and was “PayPal Verified”. That is the kind of seller you want to look for on Ebay

FYI – I bought the camera for $680.00 and due to the helpful posts on this board, it was easy to ascertain that it was in fact, a brand new G2.

I am in process of buying brand new US warranty (1 year extra warranty) from a reputable dealer for $465. I haven't seen anything on ebay that even comes close. I agree with last poster, be very careful dealing with someone with very little or negative feedback (except those with far more positive than negative). The feedback is really your best protection.

Check this forum for previous posts regarding AMEX low price guarantee, MSN, and ebates. I used all three, and haven't actually received the camera or money back, but so far everything seems to be going through.
