Any great buys now on SD cards?

Thanks! I have ordered from them before.Every now and then there is a great deal and I order a few card sof one type or another.

I am kicking myself as i put down a 1 gb SD card yesterday and have yet to find it. I looked everywhere, and even poured out the trash.

New idea for these small cards...homing devices!

Frys have been having almost a firesales on flash ram media.

Got a 60x 2GB for 39 and usualy the 80X goes for around 49.

Fry's has a single store in Houston but it is about 2 hours round trip. I find it easier to buy on line from them unless I am near the airport. Weekends are a zoo there!

(Roundtrip gas is about $30!)

SOME people have had problems with these 'too new' 150x style cards.

I personally will not use or trust them. I recommend against them.

some people get them to work. enough have had problems that I do NOT recommend them.

caveats. do what you want. but using parts that are not designed for your device isn't smart, IMHO.

150x is nonstandard, from the camera's perspective.

(please, I dont' care about anecdotal evidence of 'it works for me'. yes, it works... until you finally find one situation where it won't. don't say you weren't warned.)

10MB/sec cards are the only ones PERFECTLY in spec. ie, 66x cards.

Bryan, are you saying 66x is perfectly in spec for all Pannys or one particular model? I'd like to knowbecause I am about to receive FX01 and want to buy additional cards. Thanks.

section2:

"Up to 10MByte/sec Read/Write rate (using 4 parallel data lines)"

it cannot get any clearer than that!!

up to 10mb/sec (and that's using 4 wires - which many controllers and cameras will NOT do - they'll do serial mode using 1 wire).

there is just no way to go faster than 10 (66x) using standard hardware that is COMPLIANT.
