Flash error?? urgent help!

Guys and gals,

I'm in the middle of a wedding shoot, now on a 2 hour break, but my 430EX seems to have a problem. I constantly get extreme underexposed pictures, even with i.e. ISO 800 f3.5 1/20 sec. The flash seems stuck in full flash and needs a full recharge every single shot, again resulting in extreme underexposure. Using my pop-up yields normal results. Pressing the pilot button should give a 'mild' flash, again a full power flash, pressing the modeling flash or aperture preview button = full flash instead of high frequency flashes. Set on manual @ 1/64 = full power flash. Whats wrong?!!? I did have a shutter stuck 'crash' earlier today and I needed to take out the camera battery to be able to turn in on again. It might have send a wrong signal or somehting. I need your urgent help, greatly appreciated!

tried that and even off the camera pressing the pilot button results in a full flash. Tried leaving batteries out for a couple of minutes, same. Is there a reset function? It seems stuck and incorrectly metering

Did you happen to put it into High Speed (FP) Sync?

No, not FP sync. When in ETTL I get way underexposed shots. In manual @ whatever setting, be it 1/64 or 1/1 I get blown shots.

Try changing the batteries.

..you have one, right? Along with a backup camera, right?
