Using http://www.pricegrabber.com shows that $799 for a G2 is no "deal."

Actually, using the deal that grablife mentioned,
$799- $100(MSN Rebate)- $23.97 (ebates)- $230 (amex pricematch)=
$445.03, from a reputable dealer is quite the "deal".
Much better than any pricegrabber price, in my opinion. But feel free to order from wherever you'd like.

Be careful when ordering from PhotoAlley, they will show the camera in stock but won't have it for a while. Therefore only order if you don't care if you get it in weeks.
Besides, their phone customer care will have no clue on what's happening with your order.
