Memory question

A couple of weeks ago I received my Coolppix 950 camera from Accompany
($490). I bought Epson's Stylus 740 printer as well as 12 nihm batteries
with the Maha charger.
Now I need to buy memory. I've seen that Lexar has USB enabled cards (8x)
as well as 4x cards. My question is, should I pay more in order to buy the
8x memory or should I buy a larger card with the same memory?
Also, since the printer can be connected the my computer using either
USB or the Parallel port, should I get the USB enabled cards or just go
with the regular ones?
Has anyone used this printer to print pictures that have been taken with
the 950?
Who has the lowest price on Compact Flash cards? Are all brands the same
or should I stick to one brand in particular?
I will also buy a card reader. Should I buy one that connects to the
Parallel or USB port?
I'll appreciate it very much if any of you experienced digital photographers
would share your knowledge with me. Thanks.

I've been very satisfied with the Lexar 4x64 card w/jumpshot. This CF card also enables me to download to the computer, from the CP950, using the USB cable. It seems an elegant way to go, while having the advantage of not having to buy a card reader. I do wish, however, that Lexar would offer additional USB-enabled CF cards w/o the jumpshot cable included. I use an Epson 800 printer and am very happy with it's results.

CF cards are subject to all the laws of supply/demand and volume. I'd suggest you use a

seach bot like http://www.MySimon.com to find comparative bargains, then a business assessment
site to determine the quality of the prospective seller.
