LCD 21 inch - Samsung 215TW or HP F2105

They are both 21 inches. Went to CompUSA, but they sold out the Samsung so I don't know how it looks like comparing to the HP one. Anyone has any idea if these two are pretty much the same as far as image quality is concerned?

I don't know as to picture quality of the Samsung, but I upgraded from a 19" LaCie CRT that was real good to the HP f2105 about two months ago and I am real pleased with it. No dead pixels and no bleed thru.

I highly reccommend the HP f2105. At the time I got it, it was $749 but with $100 rebate, it was $649

Thank you Dave for sharing your experience. I gather that these two monitors are probably very much similar to each other. I only read one complain about this HP monitor's text (I do lots of text work too besides using PS), do you find the text clarity good? Since the local store don't have Samsung and I can get HP f2105 for about the same price as the Samsung, I sort of don't want to wait.

Hi Ling-ling,

My eyesight isn't the best, but I find the text very easy to read on the HP f2105. A lot easier on the eyes than my LaCie CRT.
I have my resolution set at 1680 x 1050.

Thanks Dave, I pulled the plug and ordered one F2105. Should be here early next week.

Even a 200$ LCD monitor has better resolution than my current CRT monitor, I shall be happy with this one. :)
