I found a semi-soft blue case and a gray soft side case for my FZ7. What I want is one that will slip into my purse with the FZ7 in it, not one of these uber bulky heavily padded cases.

If you find one that is small and compact before anyone else helps ya let us know. I've been looking for a good case myself. I almost wonder if I just need to make a mold of my camera and line it with liquid rubber and attach some clamps =).

hmm... I remember running across that blue one now, but I'd really like something hard and built tough. I know awhile back I found http://www.newegg.com has a small(I think 6 or 8 inches long and 4-5 inches deep I do not remember for sure now) and a large hard case that is rectangler that would work but I dunno if I'd want to go with that or not.

Do let us know what you find.

I really like the ones that Pladott found, I have emailed to see where I can find them (I am in Canada).

I would really like the same that you are looking for. For now I sewed a small bag made of soft vinyl with a fleece backing and I put the FZ7 in that. But a light neoprene one would be more protective.

I keep the plastic adapter on mine, with a uv lens, so it is slightly bulkier than without.

I agree with you ... I like this one, too. They have a list by state where they can be purchased, and there's one not too far from me.

What size lens fits on the adapter? That might mean the compact case might fit better than the small one.

The supplied plastic adapter fits a 52mm filter, and the supplied lens cap fits on that. So nice, it seals up that fabulous lens and keeps it safe.

Thank you, Lynn ...

so I can purchase a 52mm uv filter and put it directly on the supplied adapter. I have the adapter with the lenscap on now, and yes, it's as snug as if it were in Tupperware!

However, adding the adapter seems to make the camera deeper, and it maybe more difficult to find the soft case.

yea the adapter meant for the lens hood also has threads for 52mm lenses. Panasonic advises against using it as one, despite them putting the threads on it and they suggest you purchase their official lens adapter. imo unless you have a heavy weighted lens then the light plastic one is fine and even the official one is just more plastic just a little thicker.

I'd suggest going with this metal converter if you ever want to hook up something heavy or if you need 55mm

I have not ordered one for myself yet but if I ever need one I will.

Also those D-Series cases do look nice, very close to what I want except I wanted it hard.

you have to decide by how you treat your camera.

I like having the adapter on - that way when the lens is extended, the adapter is protecting it from bumps. If you bump the extended lens and put it out of alignment - erk! Could be bad news.

Because I carry mine turned on when I am bird hunting, I might bump it against...myself? a bush? whatever! So with the adapter plus the uv filter, I feel I have protected my camera somewhat.

If you ever decide that you want to put a teleconverter, or wide angle or macro lens on , then you should look at Glitchbit's comment, and get a metal pemaraal adapter - it is much safer/ sturdier to attach any lens to.

I have an FZ20 with the pemaraal adapter, and I use that with my Tcon, wcon, and mcon lenses. It is much heavier though, and I want to keep the fz7 as light as possible, thats why I bought it!

I will take only my camera and an extra battery. I'd like to have the smallest case where fz7 fits.
I want to know if the fz7 fits on Rezo 60 or another similar.
thanks for your help...

I picked up an MRock #88010 soft case for my FZ7. You can check it out at http://www.m-rock.com/appalachian.html . Fits very nicely with the adapter on, hood reversed and UV filter on. It's a top loading (holster) type, can be carried/worn numerous ways. It has room for some extras yet w/o being too big or heavy. They are only sold through retail outlets though. I found mine locally and paid $34. The site has a store locator if you're interested.

To have the smallest case, I found I can easily store my FZ7, with extention tube attached, in the waist band pouch, I just have to put it sideways. There is still room for extra cards and battery left over.

I will post a pic of the bag without the camera later,
