...now, ZEISS has started to ship the new ZF-lens, but I don't find new pictures in our forum here.

is the theme "ZEISS" out before it really starts???

I'm very interested in a comparion between the planar and nikkors like mf 50/1,4, mf 50/1,2 or af 50/1,4. the only thing we saw here was http://digitalcamera.impress.co.jp/06_03/auth/lens/index.htm , but this was two month ago.

There are a few comparisons/discussions about the new ZF lenses on photo dot net if you're interested in poking around there.

but I really think that interest in MF lenses is limited. For these new lenses to really grab people they would have to be substantially better than their Nikon AF counterparts like the AF 85mm f/1.4 and the AF 50mm f/1.4. From what I have seen I don't think they are.

I agree, Edward. The press release indicates the high demand for MF lenses. But I certainly can't imagine why, unless the price is so much lower without losing the high IQ associated with the 85 f/1.4, for example.

Seems to me that instead of picking 2 of the top nikon primes, they'd have had more interest in some fast WA's, like the sigma 30 f/1.4 and maybe something around 100mm or so, just to provide more selection competition. I wouldn't mind seeing some decent, relatively inexpensive f/2 lenses between 15 and 40mm.

Something to match tokina's 50-135 f/2.8 would be very welcome, but not as an MF lens unless they plan on pricing it around the same price as the tokina while giving better IQ.
