Where can I purchase ink to refill Canon BCI-6 ink cartridges? Also, several months ago I saw a post on how to do it. Can someone please post the site? Also what is the experience of those that have refilled their BCI-6 cartidges? Is is as good as the original ink and how many times can you keep refilling the same cartridge realistically? Thanks for your help.

BTW, love my S800!!!--John C

I've only had my S800 a couple of weeks, but have printed 200+ 8x10 equivalents and am using the $70 U-INK™ 6-Color Cartridge Refill Kit from WeInk: http://www.weink.com/inkjet/byengine/canon/s800.htm (scroll to the bottom of the page). To my eyes, the colors appear spot on but I can't attest to their light fastness. Refilling is a snap, once you set the cartridges up right. Now, I don't even remove the cartridges from the printer. Here are the instructions I followed: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=879704&a=9878290&f=0 . This is a very clear explanation and works just as described. As to the number of times you can refill, I've only refilled any particular cartridge 3 times, but I can see no reason I couldn't do it many many times more.
Good luck and happy printing!

Why do you want to refill it, it's separate ink tank, why not sticking to the original ink, it's better may cast a little more but the separate ink tank already saved you a whole lot.

Simple math
one Canon cartridge = $8-10
4 ounces of MIS ink = $8 and will give 6-7 refills

So that is $8 versus $1.30 per cartridge. At that savings it is worth dealing with the mild color shift that may get with a 3rd party ink, especially when you print 8.5x60 inch panoramas like I do.

I know it saves you more, I just wondered is it worth your convenience, play around with non-oem ink and it's not unaffordable to use OEM ink that price and seperate ink tank.

btw, i was using mis ink + my DIY on my 1280 and I do a lot of panorama (selling) too. Just MHO that if I have 1280 + seperate ink tank and reasonable OEM ink, I wouldn't mess with the 3rd party ink.

Maybe I am cheap but it is worth the effort to save that much money expecially since the whole family uses the printer. With refill ink, cost in no longer a consideration for printing. Additionally I don't sell my photos so I can't recover any cost.

I have slight magenta tint with the MIS ink that I can easily remove in the printer driver. Did you have any color shift when you used their ink?
