well, after a lot of reading here on the forums, i stoped my choice to that lens.

i have 350D xt camera, and looking for a macro lens, if you have other sudgestions pls tell me :)

if you got that lens, could you pls post some images to see examples.
i need the max close ups to an object you can get.

thank you very much! and excuse me for the bad english! :)

I love my Sigma 150f2.8EX,

but it is a specialty lens. The lens hood is great, it comes with a very nice paded case, it has a great finish/feel. Bottom line, it is as good as it gets optically for macro work. It will give you better working distance with small items (flowers/bugs etc). But it is not meant for "general" shooting. The AF will hunt like crazy on your 350d when the light is less than optimal. Yes, you can learn to use it, it might even get you into thinking more about what you are doing.. , but if this is going to be used 90% as a telephoto lens, then there are better options.

PS: I really love it, I wouldn't sell it unless I really needed the money, and I have used it on things other than macro, but it will not give you the confidence of a fast telephoto. What is the rest of your lens kit? A canon 200f2.8 might be better suited? 135f2L?

i have only one lens in my pack for now. im new to photograpfy :)
i got the canon 28-135mm iS.
i like it very much :) its a good lens.
except i have some problems.

when shooting with IS enabled, sometimes my battery does empty (and its full, just charged) when i remove the battery, and put it on again its okey!

i dont know if it is from the lens, or the camera ?! any ideas ?

well, after all that i saw here on the forums i think i will take that lens :) they are made in japan right ?

Yes they are made in japan, and trey are optically as good as they get. But are you sure you want a dedicated macro as your next lens? Go try one in a shop, it is heavy you know.Coming from a zoom to a prime macro can lead to frustration. What is your that you want from your next lens (other than working without draining the battery..)? If you want more reach, maybe a 70-200f4L would better fit your bag..

PS1: Have your 28-138IS checked, it seems as a lens problem..

PS2: I hope you have gone to http://www.photozone.de Read their reviews with a bit of salt, but you can learn a lot from them..

10x for the link man! this is realy nice web site!

well, i am interested in macro photography, and defenatly will enlarge my bagpack with more lenses in the time :)

do you have some images that you shot with the lens to see ?

On a camera that has good AF, such as 1D2 the 150 works very well as a telephoto, even in good light. I'm ken to see how it works on a 20D now I have one of those as well. Optically my 150 gives my 135 f/2L a fair run for it's money.
