Great Cam for me! Cool Rock Pix!

Ok So - I got my DMC-FZ7.

and I am by no means a photographer.. but because of my radio show - I need to be able to take pix for the website, and for the trades every so often.

Up until now - I'd been using a 3x zoom point and shoot type cam.. and decided to get something a little better when the cam broke.

So I was about 1/2 way back in the crowd, and was totally amazed at how close I was able to get!

This is the band HIM - at the sold out BAMBOOZLE tour @ Giants Stadium this past weekend.

You definitely deserve better than a 3x zoom, for what you do. I'm sure that little cam was foreordained to die, so you could get better pics.
Two little suggestions:

1. Try spot metering. The singer's face and hand are somewhat overexposed. If you meter off the singer's face, then compose the shot, you will get even better pictures.

2. When composing the shot, try to put the empty space in the direction the subject is facing. This would mean on the left, instead of the right. People prefer to look at shots composed this way.

I agree with You....it rocks but I do not have one. And you got a nice pic. A big difference huh????........lol.
