Where are you Fed Ex when I need you? I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow, Gizmo. But for now, it's time to put the wife outside and tell the cat goodnight. NOoooooh...... that aint right, what am I thinking? I don't have a cat!
As one final note to this saga, I had sent an e-mail to Etronics
saying that if they didn't ship the camera in a timely manner I
would cancel the order. Well, they didn't ship it quick enough, so
I called and cancelled.

As things usually go in this situation, I checked my e-mail later
that day and they had finally responded to my message. Suddenly
(after I'd already cancelled the order), the camera was ready and
they were shipping it out the same day. I wrote them back and said
it was too late.

Like I said in another post, if they had just given me a good
reason for the delay I could have waited. They never did, and
their promise that it would ship, each time I called, had me
smelling something fishy.

I may have been impatient in this situation, but I've been burned
by this before and I wasn't going to call back everyday just to
have them tell me again, that "today" was the day it would ship.

Has anyone tried to order a Dimage 7 from Etronics.com recently?
I placed an order on Friday and it seems to be hung up in their
shipping department. I called and they said it hadn't shipped yet
because they are busy with the holidays and they recently moved?
They assured me it would ship today and that I would get a tracking
number by the end of the day. Are they just yanking me around and
do I need to look elsewhere?
If anyone has dealt with them recently let me know.

My D7 got here finally; after 13 days....... Called and asked on Nov.16 if they had it in stock, "yes", when can you ship? Answer: "90% chance of shipping today" (Friday morning).

10 days later they shipped!!!! Got here OK......... But I would have been a lot happier if they had told me up front that it was "back ordered" for X number of days. It would have saved my time of making numerous phone calls to listen to their stupid service rep. lies and their stupid phone answering messages.
It is really a stupid way of doing business.
 
Hey Guys, It finally arrived on Friday(30th); not very speedy at all. Like I said in the other post I made, I'm glad that I wasn't in a rush. I agree with Rolf K's comment that this is a stupid way to do business especially for repeat business. I think the D7 is fantastic, to say the least. I was so close to purchasing the following models: Cannon G2, Sony 707, and the Fuji 6900. The 6900 was almost purchased online; but thanks to a pro- photographer's email to me that stated "The D7 is superior to the 6900." Well, that's all it took and I ordered online the same night with Etronics. Now, If I can just figure out how to use the ProPhoto(Kodak program) that I just downloaded? I've already put some photos thru DIVU, so what do I do to go thru Prophoto? HELP! Or better yet, how do I get Prophoto to show up on my screen?

Glen,

ICC and ICM files should be in the color subdirectory. For example, on Win 2000 it is in winnt/system/spool/drivers/color.

Hey Everybody,
Just to close out this thread, I picked up my D7 from FedEx last night.

I changed my order from Etronics to Buydig on the 28th. Buydig immediately sent an e-mail notification that my order had been received. I didn't receive another communication from them after that though. I kept hoping to get a tracking number, but got nothing. Even when I checked at their website I got an error message saying they couldn't find an order number. It wasn't looking good.

But lo-and-behold I got a note on my door that my camera was here on the 4th. I had paid the extra for 2 day shipping, so it got here pretty quick.

I ended up saving a few bucks since Buydig's price was lower, and they threw in the complimentary Quest rechargables and charger.

Now I've got to learn how to use all the features and get ready for holiday photos. I'll be checking the forum for hints and help on how to get the best from this amazing bit of technology.

Minolta switched over to including the Quest rechargables and charger months ago. Did you have to bargain with buydig.com to get them or were they just included in the box with the camera? I notice on their WEB site they have just the camera at $677 and their "Executive Pack" for about another $75. The site says nothing about batteries either way.
