Got your G2 from MPSuperstore?

I've been reading a lot of messages about getting the G2 in this forum, and I'm planning to get one in the next few days. I know most of you guys are getting AMEX pricematch to knock down the price, but I don't qualifty for the AMEX Blue sigh , so I must get it from a reliable online store with the lowest price. Seems to me that MPSuperstore has the lowest price ($675) + shipping (heard around $40) - $100 from MSN = $615 shipped.

So without AMEX pricewatch, is this the best deal out there?

Anyone here got their G2 from MPSuperstore?

Any comment about this place?

I bought a G2 and 420EX flash from MPSuperstore last Wednesday. And I think it is the best deal without the price match. They did emailed me to cal them. The saleman, Francis P., asked if I want to buy accessories and extended warranty. He is friendly and did try to get me to buy filters and stuff. Other than that, I have no problem with them. I received my camera on Thursday and been playing with it. It is finally sunny today, I am going out to try some outdoor pictures.

Steve,

Glad to hear you good experience with MPSuperstore. I've read their rating on the website mentioned a few posts up this thread, and they seem horrible. I'm really skeptical about ordering from them. I don't mind the 'call to confirm' sales pitch, I just want to make sure they will send out the camera on time.

Bought a S30 last week at MP. Used the MSN $100 discount. Got message to call MPsuperstore to confirm so that they could give me the pitch. Didn't get anything but the camera. Three days later the camera is here. And MSN sent the email to confirm the $100. About $410 net for the S30. Looked good to me.

Couple questions:

Is the camera USA version? I've heard there are vendors out there who sell international (Europe?) version.

I think the camera comes with a lens cap, and heard it's pretty useless (breaks easy?). True?

Norman, the camera is the USA version. And it camewith a lens cap and I wouldn't call it fragile. I am going to buy a Lensmate adapter and put a 49mm UV filter on it.

The camera is amazing, it is light years ahead of my old Sony S-50. The funny thing is I got some prints back that was taken with my Sony today. They are still good but I can't wait to print some from the G2.

I bought my G1 from MPSuperstore. The main gripe I had was the salesman lied to me about the Canon warranty (he said it was 3 months, not a year).

So, I, as a dumbass, bought the useless extended warranty.

I had also bought an expensive lens from MP without incident.

Personally, I'd never deal with them again, but if you're careful they do ship what you buy in a reasonable time.

That's the same thing that came to my mind when I was price searching for the G2. I would thought MSN would picked at least somewhat reputable vendors to be on their eshop list. I was surprise by the number of negative responds from their customers. But then again, it's Bill...

I'm just about getting ready to order my G2 within the next few days. Any other comments or info that I should know about (whether it's about MPSuperstore or G2) before my purchase?

Norman, if you have a Gold/Platinum Amex it works with those as well.
