Sony R1
Was part of canon people (300D + 350D) and was happy there
have als0 Sony T7 , Minolta s404
past: canon powershot pro 90, sony F707, canon 300D, Canon 350D with L glasses

First of all, I use GIMP (www.gimp.org) for all of my post processing work. Mainly because I'm a Linux user but also because it's good enough (earlier it had a very ... uhmm ... hard to use GUI, but it has improved really very much).
For most of the photos I upload for internet vieweing I do the following:
(photos are taken with lowas in camera sharpening)
  • unsharpen mask on the original photo (radius: 0.3-0.5 ,
amount: 2.00-2.10, treshold: 3-10)
  • resize to 1800x1200 - make some rotation if necessary
  • do colorwork: contrast, saturation (often selective to only some of the colors) and so on
  • normal sharpening with 20%-50% (depends on the image)
  • rezisze to somewehere around 800-1000 pix width
  • sharpen again (but not everytime - only if appropriate)
  • and of course there is often some more detaile work involved (some corrections, minimal retouching etc.)
So you see, I use a 3 step sharpening process. And sometimes I apply Neat Image before (but for the last Alps-Photos I didn't need it!).

I hope this gave you an idea.
