i really hate it when fingerprints get onto the LCD screen and even worst, I'm afraid of scratching it.

Anyone has any ideas of how to protect the screen?? I'm thinking of getting those protective adhesive-film they have to protect PDAs from scratches. Is there such a product?? Coz i though I've seen it before somewhere.(or was it just a dream???!!) Anyway, if there's such a product, is it recommended? Will it harm de screen in any way? Make the images less clear perhaps??

ANy other ideas??
thanx

I use the PDA film, and it seems to make it easier to see the LCD. Really cuts down on the finger print mess.

I bought it at Staples. No, it doesn't leavy any residue and there's enought in a package to make about 50 applications. Cutting the sheets down to size is a bit tricky but it can be done. It's called WrightRIGHT...one package contains 12 pda sized sheets. If you can't find it thier # is 800-945-4545 or http://www.fellowes.com

Just a wee bit tricky to apply but you'll get the hang.

...after you have the first scratch... it's out of mind! I have a small scratch on one of mine, from a belt buckle or whatever. Bothered me at first, but what the heck, it doesn't bother me when shooting and doesn't show up in the image!

I doubt that any DCs let you put your thumb on the actual LCD. You are touching a plastic or glass protective cover. Finger prints wipe off easily with a microfine eyeglass cleaning cloth. For a good cleaning, I use transparent scotch tape.

I don't own an F707 (yet), but unless it's more delicate that most, you shouldn't have to worry. It is annoying when a friend picks up your DC for the first time and plants their thumb in the middle of the LCD!

I used a piece of clear packing tape. This way I can replace it whenever I want and it is DIRT cheap. No sticky messes either, it comes off very clean.

I believe this is the size for the 707. They emailed me a while back with the correct one, but I can't remember which one it was.

A salesman at my local Wolf Camera gave me a demo: Scotch tape (the translucent tape) pressed and removed. Screen was clean.

The antireflective coating on the screen seems to have the same type of spectrally selective light absorbing characteristics I am used to seeing on multicoated lenses. The surface of the LCD is smooth, which of course reflects light, but the multicoating(?) seems to eliminate the relections to a large degree. So I also am concerned about scratching the surface and have treated it like a MC lens surface. I'd like to try a protector, too.
