A friend and I went on a joy ride in the beautiful countryside surrounding UVA. I took out my FinePix6800 (always at my side) and snapped about 50 shots from the car! Thought it would be interesting to post a few "high speed" shots here online.

(For all you non-US people, mph = miles per hour)

1. Joy Ride 1 - fence pictures at high speed ( 50-55mph)

2. Joy Ride 2 - Picture of me - unaltered file

3. Joy Ride 3 - Picture of me - Photoshop6.0 Processed

I'm also including a few from a bus ride through UVA grounds...pictures were taken through the (dirty) windows of the bus.

4. Bus Picture One - a bus stop full of students excited to go to class!

5. Bus Picture Two - the outskirts of UVA grounds

Hope you like!

Hi Leo...

I tried looking at your photos last night but they wouldn't load for my lowly 56k modem. Today however I managed to get most of them and I agree with slipstream that your photoshop altered photo is a real winner. I like the concept of shooting yourself in the side view mirror.

I have a feeling that many people wont be able to get to all your photos or will give up on getting them to load. Can you decrease the file sizes a little before you post?

Yes, I know... it is a wonderful side benefit of universities. If they would ever wire my town I would jump aboard, but alas they make us wait while all you college folk get the good stuff.

HaHaHa...I didn't mean to make fun of anyone. Had the impression that miles, feet, inches, etc were outlawed everywhere else. If I had the power it would be metric system all the way!

Also, mph is probably more familiar to americans than europeans/british...do you guys have a mph dial in your cars over there? or is it just kph?

-Leo

P.S., Just became a US Citizen this August!
Enjoy!
