His annoying message telling Phil how he should run his business doesn't violate the posting rules, it just lets us all judge him for what he is.

However, he has made multiple posts which violate the rule, "Flaming - We do not tolerate abusive, malicious, personal attacks or self-promoting messages."

He should be banned.

P.S. The US Constitution's free speech provisions refer to public speech, not to speech on private commercial websites. Free speech arguments don't hold here.---iNotiNova

This forum sure isn't what use to be. I been here a lot longer than the profile say's. Due to DSL and e-mail change. I been here since early 98.

I almost don't enjoy it anymore. It seems to be nothing but flaming and complaining.

This seems to be a complaint and a somewhat generic flame.

I'm afraid you're correct. It used to be limited to the open topic forum. Now I see a lot of thoughtless and inconsiderate comments here. Very little patience and what seems like a hair-trigger tendency to get personal. This happens all over the internet though. It usually winds up with some person going on and on about freedom of speech and if you don't like it don't read the posts, yadda yadda.

I call it "keyboard courage." What with the annonymity the Internet provides it's easy to trash someone. We humans we seem to be expert at provoking our neighbors and pretty lousy and exhibiting patience and practicing civility. Take a look at the posters' history and you can often get an idea of where they're coming from as well as their level of maturity. The antagonist in one of our latest threads post history shows a list of messages which contribute little to photography and suggest immaturity and provocativeness. I believe they are called trolls...provoke just to elicit a response. Sad.

I also have been posting here longer than my profile says(same reasons). And I agree that there have been times when there has been less flaming and/or immature posters. But if you look through the list of post topics, good information still abounds! Maybe the forum is just going through another parasitic attack, and if we wait a little longer, the natural defenses will soon kick in and the parasite will leave.

Just speaking in metaphors, of course. ;)
