Well, this time not so dramatic as the first one, but still able to be at the right place at the right time, as this JS ate the fly within 5 min of my arrival. First noticed the fly or mosquito, and took out my A610 reverse set up. As I was about to take the pic, I notice the JS up the leave....immediate thought....oh oh...don't tell me it spotted it (cos it was quite far apart relatively speaking)....so switch gear, and used FZ10. Really fast, unlike the heavy jumper, this guy creep....creep....creep....pause.....POUNCE! After a shot of it in the mouth, it hid under the leaf.

Anyway, here is a montage, and some close ups....

The JS vision is unique. It can scan the environment with each eye independently. IF you see the eye is black, it is looking at you. If brown, its not looking directly at you

You continue to amaze me . . . great photos and fascinating information to go with them.

Please keep sharing your photos!

The only good mosquito is a dead mosquito.
The pics are different, they're all good.

It's amazing how you can get these kind of shots taking into account the probability of it happening while you have a camera on standby to capture the moment (i.e. assuming you did not spend hours waiting to capture these shots).

Good job as always! :)

Same here, its a joy to see into this small world.
